The latest photographic competition to pique our interest is the one being run by Chris Beetles Fine Photography and its sister company Photo Democracy. Not only does it list legendary photographer Steve McCurry as sitting on the judging panel, the prize is more than just financial. The Photo Democracy Award for Fine Art Photography aims to discover, celebrate and nurture talent by signing the winners to one of two specialist print sales galleries.  It plans to give away prizes for quality photographs, but also give photographers an avenue through which to sell and market their work again and again, creating a very real opportunity for a career in photographic print sales.

There will be 21 winners in total  and although its not clear if all will receive an exhibition in the summer too, that is also part of the prize. You can enter the competition from the award page. The team behind the competition have also put together this short video.
